How to set a passing level on a Course including a Test
Svar
1. Create a Course with AI from the upper top menu, including a Test (see link)
You can create a course from the upper right level in K3 with the help of AI. Or start from scratch in the admin section.
When using the AI muffin, you are helped by the AI assistance built into the K3 platform. Its an excellent tool. Please try it out!

2. Go to the Test and uncollapse the chevron to open the Test and view the symbols in the top

3. Decide if the users are allowed to see the correct answers after taking the test and submitting the answers

Viewing the correct answer after a test is a great way to learn. Depending on preferences, you can view it as an admin as not so good to learn the answers and not study the Material and therefore turn this function off, forcing the learner to actually read and listen and actually learn the subject before submitting test answers.
The grey symbol means that no limits are set.
Without a test level passing level set, there is only the option of Always (default) and Never.

If a passing level is set, there is an option to view the correct answers after the passing level is reached.

When you click A and B is indicating a level is set: You will see the option "Only if passing level achieved"; else not.
4. Set the level of percentage to pass.
You can also determine how often the test results can be improved by repeating before closing the availability. When allowed to repeat, the best results will count.

4b. Set the passing level

When you click on the symbol for passing level, you see the grey symbol indicating no level is set.
When you set a level by clicking on the unbutton to the right , you can activate this level.

The default value is 75% correct.

If you want to change this level, clic on the arrows up or down to change the percent correct the user must achieve on the test to pass a diploma/ certificate or move on to the next part and assignment for the course. After you clic outside, you will see a green indication to signal it's activated at a level. You will also see the symbol in collapsed mode when activated.
4c. Set a retry limit

The number of times a user can try is also an option admin can add. The default is on, so the learner can retry the test as often as he or she likes.

If you turn the retry off, you can determine the number of retries allowed. Zero (0) is the lowest number, preventing retry after the first submission.
So, with no allowance to see the results and no possibility of retries, the test taker has one shot to pass the test, or he fails and needs to restart the course or apply for retake the course. Maximum freedom or minimum freedom is within the settings.
After how long can the users retake the test if they have not passed?
We do not have this delay function (as of March 2025), but it is a feature we can easily add with simple programming in the future upon demand.

Of no retry allowed: indicator is turned red.

The indicator is green if the limits are set to a fixed number of times.
5. Set the End reward to be a Diploma or certificate.
If you want to use a certificate system, you can create your passing levels in Settings in the Extra tab. The user will then receive a diploma or certificate as a reward.

The K3 has templates for Certification grade systems.

Note that, in short, a Quiz is a learning element that stimulates long-term learning, and a Test is a reconciliation of acquired knowledge, the results of which entitle you to continue in the course or a final test that provides a course certificate in some form.
Good luck with setting repeat and test score levels!
